EU export control and sanctions – risk management: identify, analyse and address

As of September 2023, the EU implemented its 11th sanctions package against Russia, specifically targeting the import of iron and steel products. If your business imports goods into the EU or affiliated countries like Switzerland and the UK, you are now required to ensure these goods are free from sanctioned products. This training course will guide you through the new rules, offering actionable steps to identify, assess, and manage associated risks effectively.

The understanding of how violations in export controls and sanctions can severely impact businesses has increased over the past year. This shift in awareness offers an opportunity for those handling export control in companies to finally get the attention these matters deserve. However, it’s also important to recognize that each company faces unique risks in terms of export controls and sanctions. This course will help you tailor a trade compliance system that fits your business needs, ensuring that you neither overreact nor underestimate the necessity for compliance.

This course is aimed at trade compliance officers, export control officers, supply chain and logistics officers, operations managers, managing directors, general managers and anyone else who is involved in risk management.

You’ll gain a comprehensive understanding of the EU’s export control and sanctions regulations and fundamental risk management strategies. Additionally, you’ll learn how to pinpoint your company’s specific needs in the complex landscape of trade compliance.
